Police were on scene of a fatal single vehicle crash in York County

One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash in York County. According to police, alcohol was a contributing factor.

YORK COUNTY, Va. (WVEC) -- One person was killed in a single-vehicle crash in York County on Tuesday.

A 2004 Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Victory Boulevard at the intersection of Route 17 around 7:30 p.m. The pickup truck driver lost control of the vehicle at the intersection of Route 17 and George Washington Memorial Highway. The truck crossed over the median into the westbound lanes and hit a tree.

The driver, 26-year-old Justin Neil Clark, was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Clark was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. According to police, alcohol was also a contributing factor to the accident.
