UVA with a better focus after 1st round win

The Cavaliers take on Oklahoma in the 2nd round of the NCAA Tournament Sunday night.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Virginia Cavaliers can now feel somewhat normal after exorcising their #1 vs #16 demons of the past. Friday's win over Gardner-Webb advanced UVA to their Sunday night showdown as top seed in the South Region against #9 Oklahoma.

Was their concern from fans and alumni when they fell behind by 12 to the Bulldogs in the first half? Sure, but the Wahoos righted the ship and won by 15. "The outside world is always going to try and put pressure on you and sometimes you can find putting pressure on yourself", say guard Kyle Guy. "Coach was referencing the Friday Night Lights, 'Clear eyes. Full heart', so just trying to focus on what's important this year and get the job done and look forward to playing Oklahoma."
