VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Police have identified the pedestrian who was killed after being hit by a vehicle in Virginia Beach's North End last week.
According to Police Dispatch, the accident happened shortly after 10 p.m. on Friday, July 10 at 69th Street and Atlantic Avenue. Police arrived to find 55-year-old Michael Francis Ott, Jr. who had been struck by a vehicle.
EMS worked to try and save Ott, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver stayed at the scene with police. Authorities said no charges are being filed against the driver at this time.
The accident remains under investigation by the department's Fatal Accident Crash Team.
