NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Newport News Police shared the identity of a homicide victim Monday morning, after officers found a man's body near Heritage Way on Friday.
That day, around 9:50 a.m., officers responded to a call for service of a dead body.
At the scene, officers found a man with at least one gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at 9:58 a.m.
He's now been identified as a 23-year-old man, named Xavier Rashad Parker.
Police have not shared any suspect information yet.
