A busy first night of area region basketball around Hampton Roads getting underway. In Class 6 Region A boys action, Jacobi Harper had a team high 16 points as Oscar Smith won over Grassfield 57-41. Ulysses Young added 12 points in the win for the Tigers.
On the girls side, in Class 4 Region A, Jaiden Hunter topped Hampton with 18 points as they cruised past Gloucester 89-23. Kaliya Perry chipped in 11 points for the Crabbers.
In Class 6 Region A, Kellam advanced past Kempsville with a 75-36 win.
