Newport News fire damages three homes

After a Newport News home caught fire, it spread to a neighboring home, then caused damage to a third.

A Newport News fire condemned two homes and damaged one.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Newport News Fire Department reported two house fires Saturday afternoon in the 700 block of Abraham Court.

When crews arrived, they were met with heavy fire that spread to a neighboring home. A third home was reported to have heat damage Newport News Fire Department confirms. Two homes are now condemned.

The fire was under control after 7pm Saturday. No occupants were inside either structure. There's been no confirmation as to the number of people displaced, if any. No injuries were reported, although one firefighter was evaluated on scene. No further treatment was required. Fire Marshalls have not yet determined the cause of this fire.
