11-year-old wrestler Mia Williams of Virginia Beach is now #1 in the nation!

We've introduced you to 11-year-old Mia Williams before. She's now ranked Number 1 in the country for girls in her age group and brought home the Trinity Trophy!

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — For the past year, we've kept you up to date on Mia Williams, the 11-year-old wrestler from Virginia Beach.

Earlier this month, she became Number 1 in the country for her age group at the World of Wrestling Tournament in Reno, Nevada!

She also brought home the Trinity Trophy, winning three separate tournaments at the Worlds. She's become only the third Virginian -- boy or girl -- to win the Trinity.

When we recently asked Mia about her long-term goals, she smiled wide and said, "It's still the Olympics!"

She then explained she wanted to wrestle her way through high school and college and then represent the United States in the Olympic games.

"I still imagine my hand getting raised on the top of the medal stand and me running to my parents and coaches and me just representing Virginia," she explained.

Mia's success is a big deal, but an even bigger deal is that she is opening doors and breaking barriers for others.

"The most important thing to me is to keep trying and showing other people and other girls that anything a boy can do, you can do, too."
