NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — The shooting happened around 10 p.m. Saturday and the man was located with a non life-threatening gunshot wound in the 100 block of Rivermont Drive, Newport News police confirm.
The victim declined treatment when medics arrived.
Further investigation revealed that a verbal dispute had taken place before the shooting happened in the 0 block of Tilson Drive.
A man was taken into custody at the scene of the crime and charges are currently pending.
Neither the suspect or the victim have been identified at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.
