NORFOLK, Va. — If you're looking for a fun, family-friendly way to start your weekend, head to Norfolk for Motown Mingle!
The event, hosted by Norfolk Parks and Recreation and Norfolk Festevents, will take over Five Points Civic Plaza and Park on Friday, April 26 from 6 to 9 p.m.
The event is free and open to the public and will be held rain or shine.
Motown Mingle features family-friendly activities and arts and crafts and boasts a pedestrian-friendly and alcohol-free environment.
Attendees can expect live music from the local favorite BJ Griffin Band, who got their fame from performing on America's Got Talent. You can also find a variety of good eats from Latin 2 Soul, Yolee's G-Dawgz, and treats from Ben and Jerry's.
Motown Mingle is one of three community events planned to come to Five Points Civic Plaza and Park this year. The upcoming planned events include a Caribbean-themed celebration in July and a football-focused event in November.
