It’s National Crime Victim’s Rights week

There was a ceremony to celebrate in Virginia Beach Wednesday.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The Commonwealth's Attorney's Office honored crime victims' rights this week at the Virginia Beach District Court.

This year’s theme was 'How would you help? Options, services, and hope for crime survivors,' their press release reads.

Virginia Beach Vice Mayor Rosemary Wilson read the proclamation at the ceremony which was held Wednesday, while Commonwealth’s Attorney Colin Stolle spoke about how the community teams with various agencies to provide resources for crime victims.

“I think everyone is sympathetic to an individual victim but does not understand how they can help,” said Commonwealth’s Attorney Colin Stolle.

If you believe you have been the victim of a crime, you can submit an anonymous tip to the crime line at 1-888-562-5887.
