7 years later: Newport News police still searching for Hampton mom, her baby

Keir Johnson, 34, and her 8-month-old baby disappeared on April 30th, 2017. Years later, police are still looking for answers.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Seven years later and there are still no answers for what happened to 34-year-old Keir Johnson and her 8-month-old daughter, Chloe.

The two disappeared on April 30, 2017, after friends told police the two never showed up for plans at Buckroe Beach.

It's something the Johnson family still finds difficult to talk about.

"Imagine living in a world and there's no more trees and grass," said Teir Johnson, Keir's twin sister. "All I know is her."

Years later, a spokeswoman with Newport News Police Department said they do not believe the mother and daughter "just disappeared" and that something happened to them.

Investigators said they have invested thousands of hours looking into the case, but have not named any persons of interest or arrested anyone.

Now, investigators said they are looking for justice for whatever happened to Keir and Chloe.

"They need to be with their family, please help us," said the victim's mother.

Newport News issued an Amber Alert to find the missing mother and daughter on May 11, 2017. Police ended the alert a week later on May 18.

The Newport News Police Foundation is putting up a $25,000 reward in the hope that someone will come forward with information. In January, Smithfield Foods added an additional $10,000 to the reward fund.

If you have any information about the whereabouts of Keir and Chloe call the Crime Line at 1-888-562-5887.
